International Call for Papers
The Brazilian PostgreSQL User Group is proud to
invite you to participate in PGCon Brazil 2008. After
the realization of PGCon Brazil 2007, we invite the
international community to submit lecture proposals to
our second release of this event. PGCon Brazil 2008
will happen September 26 and 27, at Unicamp
Submissions:
- We will choose up to 2 lectures this year;
- Each lecture will have 60 minutes including time for questions;
- Any one could send more then one proposal, but is possible that no more than one will be select;
- Only submissions done according the calendar will be accepted;
- Selected speakers need to sent a draft of presentation according the calendar;
- All slides used in the lectures will be
published at postgresql.org.br;
Please submit all proposals through this email
address: pgcon@postgresql.org.br
with subject "International Call for Papers" and put the
following information in the body:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Biographic notes (up to 500 characters)
- Title of presentation
- Resume of presentation (up to 500 characters)
- Full description of presentation (up to 3000 characters)
- Where you will come from (country, city)
- Language you prefer to use
- Other languages that you feel confortable in
- Estimate cost of transport (please put a link to
the place where you find these prices, or at least the name of the company and selected class)
- Have you any partner who could sponsor the trip?
- Have you any type of personal funds to help with trip costs?
Calendar:
- 2008-05-12 — Call for papers publication;
- 2008-05-31 — Deadline for proposals;
- 2008-06-18 — Deadline for paper selection;
- 2008-08-04 — Deadline for confirmation of presence of speakers;
- 2008-08-29 — Deadline for slides drafts;
Note:
PGCon Brasil isn’t 100% sure about
funding, so there is no promise that the Brazilian PUG
will pay all the costs of the two selected speakers.
However, with the success of our first PGCon Brazil, is
is a reasonable expectation. We started this process
early in order to try to obtain funding. Any help in
contacting international sponsors will be appreciated.
